Furry Bottoms Rescue operates without paid staff so our volunteers mean the world to us. We're grateful for their time and skills...we couldn't possibly exist without them. There are many ways you can volunteer with us, depending on your interests and how much time you can offer. And even though we're very passionate about our mission of saving dogs' lives, we're flexible, casual and like to have fun!
We've listed some of our volunteer positions below but if you have a special area of knowledge that you think might benefit us, please let us know about it. We love to hear about new ideas that can make Furry Bottoms Rescue even better!
Available Positions:
Walking Partner- Taking a dog for a walk not only to helps her get the exercise she needs, but teaches leash skills and reinforces good canine companion behavior.
Training Buddy - Help the dogs learn basic commands using positive reinforcement (they love getting treats for a job well done!) Training stimulates a dog's mind whiile it helps him become a better canine companion. The dogs have so much fun learning, they think they're playing instead of "working" so everyone has a good time!
Fundraising Staff - We can always use some extra hands at our fundraising events. If you like doing bake sales, brat frys, rummage sales, community dog walks, etc. you'll love helping out with our fundraisers.
Event Coordinator - From designing advertisments to staffing adoption events at local pet supply stores, your skills will help our community events be successful ones.
Foster Parent - Why not be a foster parent to a deserving dog? The number of dogs we can rescue depends on the number of foster homes we have available, so there's always a need for more. Fostering a dog is rewarding, not only in the love you receive from the dog himself, but also in knowing you helped him get a second chance at living a happy life. Our experienced team is here to help you every step of the way so even if you've never fostered before, you'll have all the support and information you need to be a successful foster parent.
*Special note for students: Many area high schools have a community service requirement for graduating seniors. If you're looking for a community service project and you like to work with animals (or have an interest in animal rescue), we encourage you to fill out the form below. In the past, students have assisted us with dog walking, fundraisers, and advertising. If there's something in particular you're interested in doing, let us know!
